Stylish and Affordable Wall Art

Happy weekend friends!

How are we already crusing toward the end of July? It’s always amazing to me how quickly summer seems to fly by. We are spending the weekend at the Lake and we arrived last night just in time for the kids to squeeze in some tubing on the boat before bedtime…ahhh summer!

Love the way that photo turned out, nothing like the golden light of sunset on the water to create a beautiful picture! And speaking of pictures, that leads me to the topic of today’s blog post – Affordable Art for your walls! (how was that for a segway? smooth like butter!)

I mentioned Juniper Print Shop in a recent “what I’m Loving Lately” post , but I have become slightly obsessed with the online shop and wanted to share what I love about it with you, my online friends. It can be really daunting to decide what to put on your walls, and most of us can’t afford to drop thousands of dollars on artwork for our homes. Discovering JPS (juniper Print Shop) has been a game changer for me. Not only have I found some artwork that I have used in my own home, it has made sourcing artwork for clients super easy too!

Friends, I can’t praise this online retailer enough, and in case you are wondering, they are not paying me to write nice things – I just really love this shop. Not only do they have amazing images for your home, but they are affordable, they have amazing customer service and they now ship to Canada!

You might wonder why an online digital retailer would need to ship something, but here’s the cool thing about JPS…they have come up with an Ikea Hack which you should check out by clicking here. You may have seen these oversize Ikea Canvases in your travels.

They are super affordable for an oversize canvas with several options available in store. Juniper has devised a system where we the customer can choose any of the available images from their online store, buy the Bjorksta frame from Ikea and create a beautful custom canvas for around $200. That is pure genius if you ask me! In order to create the high-end framed canvas look, you need to order your image of choice printed on this special paper that Juniper has, and then they will ship it to you. If this is something you are interested in doing, I encourage you to click the link above and read the tutorial on Juniper’s website. They even have a video if you prefer that.

I just ordered this set of prints on the special paper. As my fellow Canadian shoppers know, oftentimes the shipping to Canada can be a real deterrent, but these prints cost $12 for shipping and I thought that was totally reasonable! I will warn you that there was an unexpected duty charge upon delivery, and that came to $20. I still think that the cost of the prints, plus shipping and duty was totally worthwhile. I love these prints and they are going to be front and center in my Living Room.

I think what I love most about Juniper Print shop is that they have just enough inventory so that there is something for everyone, but they don’t have so much that you feel overwhelmed while browsing their site. Between myself and a few client projects, I have used several images now and there are a few more on my wish list. I fell in love with this image right away when I first discovered JPS.

I had it printed on canvas at Costco and I have hung it in my bedroom which is slowly undergoing a makeover. I love it above my vintage dresser that belonged to my grandma.

Both a client and I purchased these Dahlia prints and we LOVE them! We framed them with inexpensive gold frames from Ikea for her Living Room and I will be sharing them in an upcoming blog post. We actually had our hearts set on this print

but I have to say, in our opinion, this image just doesn’t look good when you enlarge it  – no matter the paper, and believe me, we tried! I was so determined to make this work, we tried printing it on different types of paper and even ordered it printed on the special Juniper hybrid paper. Both my client and I agreed that because this was a print of a painting, it just didn’t enlarge well on paper.  I printed an 8 x 10 of it using watercolor paper and it turned out okay. The only thing we didn’t try was to order it on canvas like I did with the Hills print above. I may try that one of these days as I love the image so much!

This post is getting a little long so I will keep the rest of this brief and just share with you the images I have used for myself and recommended for clients as of late!

1.I just finished giving my daughter’s room a makeover and I purchased this and this to hang abover her bed and they are perfect!  I printed to pictures at London Drugs and used gold Ikea Frames and can’t believe the cost for this stunning focal point in her room!

2.Juniper Print Shop made a shipping error on an order for a client project and to make it up to us, they gave us the print free and also gave us a second print of our choice also free – this is what I mean about amazing customer service! My client chose this photo as her freebie and it is stunning in person!

3.I love when prints come in sets that you can print, frame and hang together…it doesn’t get any easier than that. Juniper has lots of sets, like the Lily ones I mentioned abover. This seascape set is something I recently suggested to some clients for their dining room.

SEASCAPE I

4.This gorgeous print is on the Top of my wishlist, I am just trying to figure out where I can use it in my home!

I always get so excited when I discover something that makes my life either easier or more beautiful, that’s what I love about blogging, that I can pass it on to you guys! Having images on your walls that you love is just one of the many ways that you can make your home a refelction of your style and personality. If you have any questions about anything in this post, don’t hesitate to leave them for me below!
